Waste Management
Kerbside Collection
Great Southern Waste is currently contracted by the Shire of Cuballing to perform kerbside rubbish and recycling bin collections every week. This service is only available to properties within the townsite of Cuballing and Popanyinning. This is billed annually on your Shire Rates.
Applying for Kerbside Collection Services
Each property within the townsite with a dwelling (house) is entitled to a set of bins. When a new dwelling has been completed, the Shire is responsible for allocating a new set of bins (General waste and Recycling Bin) to the property. As noted above, these charges are included on your rates notice. If any changes occur outside the normal rates issue period, an interim rates notice will be issued accordingly. Please note that the property is deemed a residential property with a dwelling when Landgate reviews any building completion documentation and then advises the Shire Rates officer.
Additional Bin Services
Only one green waste bin or recycling bin will be picked up each week (fortnightly for your recycling bin) unless an additional bin has been charged for. In some instances, additional bin services may be required. A request must be made in writing to the Shire of Cuballing should you require an additional bin service. Please send your request through to rates@cuballing.wa.gov.au .
When a new bin service is added to your property, an interim rates notice will be issued to cover the additional cost. You will only be charged from the date that you receive the new bin service, until the 30th of June for the current financial year.
Replacement Bins
In the instance one or both of your bins is stolen, or lost, it the responsibility of the property owner to pay for a replacement. To request a replacement, you must contact the Shire administration office on 9883 6031 or via email to enquiries@cuballing.wa.gov.au
What if my bin has been damaged?
Depending on the reason for damage, bins and parts of bins can be fixed or replaced. In most cases, damage to wheels or bin lids can be fixed by the Shires contractors on their usual tip runs. Please notify the Shire administration staff so the issue can be resolved as soon as possible.
