Rates Instalments or Paying in Full
The Shire of Cuballing provides two options for the payment of rates, either in full or by four instalments.
If paying in full, the due date is 35 days from the date of issue. The Shire of Cuballing also offers a discount if the rates are paid in full 21 days prior to the due date. The discount amount varies every financial year. For 2025/2026, a 5% discount is offered to Ratepayers.
If electing to pay by instalments, 4 instalments are paid every 60 days after the Initial due date. Instalment notices will be sent out 35 days before each instalment date.
What happens if the rates aren't paid by the due date or if the instalment option hasn't been elected?
The Shire of Cuballing charges interest at 11% per annum which is calculated daily on outstanding rates balances. Pensioners and Seniors are exempt from interest charges. If the amount remains unpaid, the Shire may have no choice but to refer the rates account to the Shire of Caballing's Debt Collection Agency.
