Facility Hire
The Shire of Cuballing has a range of facilities that are available to hire for events. Bookings are made by completing the Venue Hire Application Form and returning to the Shire Office (either in person or via email). In the event of a cancellation, the Shire Office must be notified.
Venues available for Hire
- Cuballing Recreational Centre – Includes the Cuballing Football Oval and Tennis Courts
- Cuballing Agricultural Hall
- CWA Hall
- Popanyinning Hall
- Popanyinning Tennis Courts & Oval
- Popanyinning School
Tables and Chairs are supplied as part of the hire fee. Please ensure they are cleaned and returned to the storage area after use. The hirer should inform the Shire if there is any damage noticed prior to the event. If any damages occur during the event, Council will seek to recover the full value of damage or repair costs from the hirer. After the booking has finished, it’s the responsibility of the applicant to ensure the venue is cleaned and left in the same condition as the commencement of the booking. Additional cleaning charges may be applicable should the venue not be appropriately cleaned after the booking is complete.
For events that require camping (tents, caravans, camper trailers, RV’s), requests must be made in writing to the Cuballing Shire Council. For more information, you can speak to a member of the Cuballing Administration staff or complete the online enquiry form by clicking contact us.
The Shire of Cuballing also enforces a bond that must be paid prior to the event. The fee for the Bond will depend on whether or not the event will have liquor (BYO or obtaining a Liquor Permit)

Alcohol Consumption
If you intend on consuming alcohol at a Shire facility, the application for permission to serve alcohol on council property form must be completed and approved by the Shire Chief Executive Office. This can be found in the Venue Hire Application Form. By completing this form and obtaining approval from Council, it does not grant permission to sell or serve alcohol. Consumption of Liquor Permits are only valid until midnight (12:00am) at which time the permit must cease effect.
