The draft Local Planning Strategy (LPS), when finalised, will be the Council’s key strategic
land use planning document. The LPS is intended to provide broad direction for the future
growth and development of the district for 10 - 15 years.
The draft Local Planning Strategy is currently a preliminary draft and will be modified following
comments from the community and other stakeholders in 2018 and based on Western
Australian Planning Commission requirements. It is highlighted that investment or associated
decisions should not rely on the draft Strategy given the final endorsed Strategy will be
different to the preliminary draft version. Please contact the Shire for clarification or for further
information.
Written comments are now invited on the draft LPS by 21st June 2018. The draft LPS is
available at the Shire office during opening hours along with being available here
Submissions on the draft LPS must be made in writing and lodged with the undersigned on or
before 21st June 2018. Submissions may be made by e-mail to
