The Department for Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) together with the Shire of Cuballing and local Bush Fire Brigades have identified high fire fuel loads in the reserve shown below.
To reduce the fire risk to residents and the community, a prescribed burn is scheduled for Autumn – Winter 2020.
The actual day of the burn will be subject to weather conditions and availability of volunteers. Due to conditions such as fuel moisture levels, fuel loads etc. it may be necessary to burn different parts on different days. Prescribe burns being conducted by DFES and volunteers can be found on DFES’s Alerts and Warnings webpage (Emergency WA) under Prescribed Burning.
Please ensure that your evaporative air conditioner is turned off during this period. It is also recommended that all doors and windows are closed to minimise the impact of smoke entering your home.
