ANZAC Day 2020

Published on Thursday, 23 April 2020 at 2:01:00 PM

ANZAC day has been conducted in Australia every year since 1916 with exceptions in 1942 for World War II and in 2020 because of the circumstances arising from COVID-19.

Just because ANZAC Services will not go ahead in 2020, the Shire of Cuballing is still encouraging local residents to go to your local memorial and pay your respects to those who served in your own time.  While you will need to keep a social distance from others, feel free to leave flowers or a wreath or just reflect in your own way.

The Shire of Cuballing has released a short ANZAC Service video using our Popanyinning and Cuballing memorials and our local residents who would normally participate in our local ANZAC services.  The video also includes a montage of photographs of local Great War veterans.

The video has been edited together by Cuballing resident Cooper George.

A big thank you to all who participated and made our video possible at short notice.  Their efforts have allowed us to at least have the spirit of our local ANZAC services on 25th April 2020.

Lest We Forget
